Born and raised in Boston, Lincolnshire I have been Stand Up Paddling for 6 years now. After a nasty knee injury meant I could no longer Kayak, I picked up a SUP paddle once I'd recovered sufficiently from surgery. After 5 years of South coast living with the thriving SUP scene and learning from some of the sports UK legends such as John Hibbard and Steve West, I have paddled and experienced most types of water conditions. From Surf to canal and from gale force downwind paddling to enclosed lakes I have a comprehensive knowledge.
I have also been competing in the 14' Race division in the UK SUP race series for the last 4 years with a couple of podium finishes to my name.
I moved back to the East Midlands in 2017 and brought SUP back with me. I decided at the end of the summer to open a school so I can spread the word on SUP and use my knowledge and experience to share the stoke of paddling.

At Yellowbelly SUP School, I cater to all ages and experience levels with my wide variety of courses. Whether you are a first time paddler looking to learn from scratch or a competent paddler with a need to tweak technique, you’ve got many options to choose from. In this class you will get your first taste of Stand Up Paddleboarding.
In particular you will
Learn about your SUP equipment and how it works
Learn the forward and reverse paddle stroke
Learn how to Stand Up on the board using the correct technique
Intermediate Lessons are for developing on your first taste of SUP. Focus on paddle technique and using more advanced turns while paddling for longer to build up stamina.
Focus on the 5 phases of the paddle stroke
Practice more advanced and efficient turns
Increase your stamina and efficiency while paddling
Work on balance and developing a 'feel' for the board
This lesson offers an insight into the wider world of SUP. This new and exciting sport you are learning is great for adventuring and exploring your local waters. Yellowbelly SUP have developed this course to help you learn some of the broader knowledge needed such as trip planning, how to manage safety for both yourself and others and understanding prevailing conditions in a variety of differing environments.
2HR RIVER EXPLORER
This option is a guided paddle on Yellowbelly SUP's home turf on the River Witham (although other locations can be used).
Two hours of gentle paddling taking in the scenery and letting the busy world slip away.
We tend find locations for these that will finish near a local hostelry in order to refuel properly!!
